Following a medical issue faced by a crew member, NASA and SpaceX (SPACE) will take steps to bring back four astronauts from the International Space Station this week, marking the first medical evacuation in the history of the orbiting lab.
Nasa is considering an early return of some crew aboard the International Space Station (ISS) because of a medical issue involving one member of a four-strong team. The unnamed crew member is described as stable, but the incident has already led to the last-minute cancellation of a spacewalk.
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman said the crew member is stable and stressed Thursday that the decision to bring Crew-11 home ahead of schedule is a precautionary move focused on astronaut health, not an emergency evacuation.
