LOUSIVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Roblox will add new age-verification requirements as the popular gaming platform faces lawsuits accusing it of failing to protect young users.
Roblox, under scrutiny for child safety concerns, will require users to verify their age through a selfie or an ID. They'll only be allowed to chat with others in the same age group unless they confirm they know the other person.
The new verification requirements are aimed at reducing those risks and strengthening protections for kids who use the platform. Roblox is rolling out new age-verification features as the gaming platform faces mounting lawsuits claiming it endangers children.
Roblox is now requiring selfies, verified either with a government ID or through an AI review, to use its chat functions.
