A potential winter storm could be brewing this weekend. FOX 5 NY's meteorologists Nick Gregory and Audrey Puente discuss what the weather models are currently predicting.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — A developing winter storm could bring freezing rain, sleet and possibly snow to the Midlands this weekend, with impacts potentially lasting into early next week. Because of that, News19 has issued Weather Impact Alert Days for Saturday and Sunday.

Veteran meteorologist James Spann wrote that one of his go-to weather models, the system run by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (also known as the ECMWF) shows the possibility of prolonged freezing rain over part of Alabama (northern Alabama most likely).
