It’s a good idea to apply for settled status as soon as you meet the conditions, as your rights will be better protected once you hold settled status. Did you not know your child was eligible to the EU Settlement Scheme? Many EU citizens assume their children are British just because they were born in the UK. This isn't always the case - and if they are EU citizens they could be eligible to the EU Settlement Scheme. The deadline to apply was 30 June.
